Biography
As a doctoral-trained gross anatomist, the human body is my favorite thing to learn about and my favorite thing to teach others about. I spent several years teaching first-year medical students gross anatomy, and I developed curricula to assess their non-traditional discipline-independent skills like professionalism, teamwork, and communication in the gross lab context. My research in this field was recognized and awarded at the university and national levels. I have served as a consultant on functional anatomy relative to the treatment of adult upper and lower limb spasticity and cervical dystonia for medical injection training programs utilizing anatomic donors. I’m simply passionate about incorporating anatomic donors into curricula to train and teach our future and current healthcare providers not only about anatomy, but also about professionalism, respect, body donation, and so much more.
Some fun facts about me: I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky; my husband, Eli, and our dog, Toby, are my pride and joy; I love spending time outdoors and hiking; ‘New Girl’ is my favorite series to watch and re-watch over and over; and, I am so very excited to be a part of the ACC community teaching students A&P, introducing them to anatomic donors, and helping them realize their goals and potential.
